1. What is HopeGives? What’s the story behind it?
HopeGives is a new crowdfunding platform built specifically for AG global workers (missionaries and associates) and ministries, and it launches August 4, 2025, at General Council.
The platform is meant to help you raise support for your ministry. Pastor Troy Jones and his
team created it with AG missions in mind, with this heart behind it: to lighten the load you
carry by opening new doors for partnership and support. Even those serving in sensitive areas can use it.
At the end of the day, HopeGives exists to make sure no missionary walks alone.
2. What’s my first step?
Head to HopeGives.com and log in using the AG credentials option.
Under the Fundraise menu, choose Become a Verified Missionary. You’ll go through a short
process there to confirm your AG status, including letting us know if you work in a
sensitive area. HopeGives follows up to verify your status with AG.
3. When do I receive the fund
Because HopeGives connects directly with AG Giving (giving.ag.org), the process is seamless and secure. Funds show up just like your regular AG support. Every dollar raised:
- Goes through the same secure channels you already use.
- Is tracked and receipted for tax purposes.
- Follows the same accountability standards AG already has in place.
4. Where will I see those funds in my AG account?
All contributions received through a Hope Campaign will be placed in your class (56). You can
then request to transfer funds from (56) to any work class or AG account using the normal
process.
5. Can people support you monthly through this platform?
Yes! Each campaign will include an option for donors to give monthly.
It’s an easy way to build long-term, recurring support for your ministry.
6. Do I need training?
Nope! The platform is designed to be simple.
But if you like reading up on new things, check
out the articles at the HopeGives Help Center.
7. What will this cost me?
HopeGives doesn’t take a cut or charge you a fee—no strings attached! Instead, it relies on
voluntary gifts called TIPs (Together Impacting People). These TIPs come from donors who want to help keep the platform free for missionaries and churches
AG withholds the usual 7% deduction for all donations made to your account.
8. Can Missionaries in sensitive areas use this platform?
Yes. We understand the risks of serving in certain regions.
That’s why HopeGives offers privacy and security features to help protect your identity—while still allowing you to raise support effectively.
9. How do I post a Hope Campaign?
Once you’re verified, log in and click Start a Hope Campaign. Follow the straightforward steps
from there.
Then, when your campaign is set up, HopeGives gives you tools to make sharing easy! You’ll find promo articles you can tweak and use and training videos that walk you through the process.
10. How do I promote a Hope Campaign
We’ve built tools to help you share your campaign confidently:
✅ Promotion Articles
✅ Step-by-Step Training Videos – Video Library
11. Is HopeGives Officially part of the Assemblies of God?
No, but it was built for AG missionaries and works with AG systems. While it’s not operated by
the AG, it is fully integrated with AG Giving. That means every donation is handled with the
same level of accountability, transparency, and care you’re used to.
HopeGives isn’t meant to replace the local-church sending structure. It’s simply another
tool—especially helpful for targeted social media campaigns.
12. Can missionaries outside the AG use this platform?
Yes. While it started as a resource for AG missionaries, we’ve opened the platform to other
ministries who share our heart for global missions.
13. What if I need further help?
Most questions can be answered in the Help Center, but if you don’t see what you need there, just email support.hopegives.com.
Still need support?
AG global workers can also reach out to the founder directly—Pastor Troy is in your corner and happy to connect!
